Neglected

My poor blog has been neglected. I am going to get better at writing more.......I PROMISE!!!
I am just gonna do a quick recap of the things I should of put in here, but didn't! and bear with me on the pics because I cannot figure out how to put them where I want them to be???
Thanksgiving is my favorie holiday and this year was the best by far!! Kreig's parents don't really like to do much for Thanksgiving and my parents live 6 hours away, so it was just the 3 of us(Alix was with her Mom). We mad a simple meal.. Turkey, stuffing, green beans, and mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was great and Charlee loved the turkey. That evening Kelly, Brian, and the Logans came over. Charlee and Logan watched movies, while the adults had a few drinks and just sat around and talked. It was such a great day!
We also had a good Christmas. One of the downsides of my job is that I have to work every other Christmas:( It just makes it hard to get in the Christmas spirit when you know you have to work for 12 1/2 hours on Christmas day. We decided to let Charlee open up her presents on Christmas eve. It was sooo cute, she loved every second of it and was very excited about her gifts. Her obsession is Elmo, so she got ALOT of Elmo stuff! Christmas day rolled around and I got called off for the first 8 hours, so that was a GREAT present! I am already looking forward to next Christmas!
My parents came the Monday after Christmas to stay for a whole week! It took them FOREVER to get here because it was snowing pretty bad the entire way here. I think it took them about 12 hours and it normally takes around 6. We had our Christmas with them and they loved watching Charlee open her presents which were, more Elmo stuff:) Tuesday night as we were sitting down for dinner all of our phones kept ringing, but we were eating so we all kept ignoring the calls. Eventually, when they kept ringing, we thought something was up. My Mom then answered hers and it was Marge( my granpas wife) and she said that my Grandpa had gone to check on my Uncle Phil because he couldn't get a hold of him and when he walked in the house he found him dead on the couch! He was only 45! He did have some health problems, but nobody expected him to die so young. My parents had to leave the next day to make funeral arrangements and we left that weekend for the funeral. It was nice to see all the family, but it just didn't feel the same without Uncle Phil! He was a great guy and we will all miss him dearly.
New years eve we stayed home. Justin and Jeni came over and we made a whole bunch of junk food, had some drinks, and just sat around and talked. Charlee woke up at 11:59 to ring in the new year with everyone. It was a wonderful start to 2010!
My major goal for 2010 is to get back into shape! I have come up with a reward system that is actually really helping me. It is simple...... I created a sheet that has different goal weights on it, and when I get to certain weights there are rewards. Such as; tanning package, new clothes, and hair appointment. It is going great and it makes it much easier to want to work out and eat right when I know I am going to get a reward for all the hard work! This also helps me, because I have a really hard time buying myself stuff. I don't know why? I just feel guilty, like the money could have been spent on something more important. I haven't had my hair done in 1 year and 6 months because of this! That's ridicuolus! I better hurry up and reach that goal SOON!
Off to the gym I go..................

It's been a while

Things have been good around the Skillman house lately. Charlee has had a virus twice in the past month, and then Mommy got it! It wasn't too bad though, just a couple days of fever and Charlee wanting to be held, which I can handle since she usually HATES being held!
Little miss thing is 14 months now, with the attitude of a 3 year old! I really thinkg she is going through her terrible 2's a year early, or at least I hope! If her attitude is gonna get worse at 2 then I am moving out:) She is a really good little girl for the most part, but here recently she is starting the smacking , biting, throwing herself on the floor tantrums, and telling Mommy and Daddy "NO, NO"! As you can imagine, I am not gonna tolerate ANY of these things, so I feel like I am smacking her booty and telling her NOOOOOOO all day long, but it is slowly getting better.
She has also turned into quite the daredevil. I came out of the restroom the other day and she had pulled a chair over to the counter and climbed up on it to get the dogs food and water bowl and dump them everywhere! Then yesterday she got very quiet while playing in her room, so I went to check on her and she was standing on top of her dresser! She had pulled out the drawers and scaled all the way to the top! This kid is gonna give me a heart attack!

Charlees First Birthday

My baby girl is one! I never could have imagined how quickly we would be at this point! We are so very lucky to have such a good little girl. She brings nothing but joy and happiness to our lives everyday and we can't wait for what the upcoming years will bring. Mommy and Daddy love you Charlee<3We just had a little get together at the house for Charlee's bday. Well, there was actually almost 30 people here! It took quite a bit of work on our part, but it was well worth it! Charlee had a blast and got a TON of presents! I wasn't really expecting her to really get the concept of opening presents yet, but she had it down. She was getting so excited when she got the wrapping paper off. It was so cute! I think her favorite gift was a pink and purple ATV that Aunt Kelly and Uncle Brian got her. I didn't think she would get that either, but she hopped right on and started riding all over the yard! She really likes to stand up and ride it too, which makes Mommy really nervous!
Charlees 1 year check up went great too! She is still way underweight(19lbs) and really tall for her age(34in), but we knew that was coming. I am not that concerned about it at all though. I think she eats and drinks just fine for a 1 year old. She will start gaining more weight eventually. Other than that, she was pefectly healthy and we are very BLESSED for that!
On another note, I started working full time again. It isn't too bad because I only work 3 days a week, but 12 and half hour shifts! As much as I love my baby girl, I love my job too and it is nice to be in "adult world" 3 days a week.
Well, we are going camping at Indiana Beach this weekend with Kreigs parents, so I have alot of packing to do.

It's been a while!
Like always, things have been crazy busy around here! Grandma and Grandpa Skillman have been out of town, so Kreig has been busy doing both of his jobs, Grandpas job, mowing both yards, and everything else in between! Which leaves me home with Charlee all day and all night. That little girl can sure wear me out, but it has been really nice having some mommy-daughter time.
I finally went and signed up at the gym. It has been going really good! I have been working out pretty much everyday. They have a daycare there and Charlee loves it! It is good for her to get some play time with other kids. I had my first meeting with the trainer, but we didn't really workout, he just showed me how all the machines worked and talked about diet. He said that the thing missing in my workout routine is weight and resistance training. These last 20lbs of baby weight are refusing to go anywhere and he swore to me that once I start the weight/resistance that I wont believe how quick I will loose it! I sure hope so! I am meeting with him on Friday to start training and I am guessing I will not be able to move on Saturday, but it will be well worth it to have my body and confidence back!

Meet the Skillmans
This is Kreig and I(Heidi). We have been married for just under a year. Kreig has his own insurance agency and a small cleaning business. I work part time at a hospital.
These are the kids. Alix is seventeen years old and a junior in highschool. She gets really good grades and is in cheer and dance. She wants to be an anesthesiologist. Charlee is almost 9 months old. She is a hyper little thing, but a joy to be around!
