It's been a while

These are 2 pics of Charlee exactly a year apart. Crazy how much they change huh????

Things have been good around the Skillman house lately. Charlee has had a virus twice in the past month, and then Mommy got it! It wasn't too bad though, just a couple days of fever and Charlee wanting to be held, which I can handle since she usually HATES being held!

Little miss thing is 14 months now, with the attitude of a 3 year old! I really thinkg she is going through her terrible 2's a year early, or at least I hope! If her attitude is gonna get worse at 2 then I am moving out:) She is a really good little girl for the most part, but here recently she is starting the smacking , biting, throwing herself on the floor tantrums, and telling Mommy and Daddy "NO, NO"! As you can imagine, I am not gonna tolerate ANY of these things, so I feel like I am smacking her booty and telling her NOOOOOOO all day long, but it is slowly getting better.

She has also turned into quite the daredevil. I came out of the restroom the other day and she had pulled a chair over to the counter and climbed up on it to get the dogs food and water bowl and dump them everywhere! Then yesterday she got very quiet while playing in her room, so I went to check on her and she was standing on top of her dresser! She had pulled out the drawers and scaled all the way to the top! This kid is gonna give me a heart attack!

Charlees First Birthday

My baby girl is one! I never could have imagined how quickly we would be at this point! We are so very lucky to have such a good little girl. She brings nothing but joy and happiness to our lives everyday and we can't wait for what the upcoming years will bring. Mommy and Daddy love you Charlee<3

We just had a little get together at the house for Charlee's bday. Well, there was actually almost 30 people here! It took quite a bit of work on our part, but it was well worth it! Charlee had a blast and got a TON of presents! I wasn't really expecting her to really get the concept of opening presents yet, but she had it down. She was getting so excited when she got the wrapping paper off. It was so cute! I think her favorite gift was a pink and purple ATV that Aunt Kelly and Uncle Brian got her. I didn't think she would get that either, but she hopped right on and started riding all over the yard! She really likes to stand up and ride it too, which makes Mommy really nervous!

Charlees 1 year check up went great too! She is still way underweight(19lbs) and really tall for her age(34in), but we knew that was coming. I am not that concerned about it at all though. I think she eats and drinks just fine for a 1 year old. She will start gaining more weight eventually. Other than that, she was pefectly healthy and we are very BLESSED for that!

On another note, I started working full time again. It isn't too bad because I only work 3 days a week, but 12 and half hour shifts! As much as I love my baby girl, I love my job too and it is nice to be in "adult world" 3 days a week.

Well, we are going camping at Indiana Beach this weekend with Kreigs parents, so I have alot of packing to do.

Sweet Summer!!!

We took Charlee out on the boat for the first time last weekend. She LOVED it! All she wanted to do is walk around in the water and eat the sand on the beach. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

It's been a while!

Like always, things have been crazy busy around here! Grandma and Grandpa Skillman have been out of town, so Kreig has been busy doing both of his jobs, Grandpas job, mowing both yards, and everything else in between! Which leaves me home with Charlee all day and all night. That little girl can sure wear me out, but it has been really nice having some mommy-daughter time.

I finally went and signed up at the gym. It has been going really good! I have been working out pretty much everyday. They have a daycare there and Charlee loves it! It is good for her to get some play time with other kids. I had my first meeting with the trainer, but we didn't really workout, he just showed me how all the machines worked and talked about diet. He said that the thing missing in my workout routine is weight and resistance training. These last 20lbs of baby weight are refusing to go anywhere and he swore to me that once I start the weight/resistance that I wont believe how quick I will loose it! I sure hope so! I am meeting with him on Friday to start training and I am guessing I will not be able to move on Saturday, but it will be well worth it to have my body and confidence back!

Meet the Skillmans

This is Kreig and I(Heidi). We have been married for just under a year. Kreig has his own insurance agency and a small cleaning business. I work part time at a hospital.
These are the kids. Alix is seventeen years old and a junior in highschool. She gets really good grades and is in cheer and dance. She wants to be an anesthesiologist. Charlee is almost 9 months old. She is a hyper little thing, but a joy to be around!

This is Kiwi. Our CRAZY dog! She is a schnoodle. She is only a year and a half old, so she still has ALOT of puppy in her. We love her like another child.

Need a smile????

I stayed home from work today because Charlee is sick. She has been REALLY grumpy for the past 3 days! A combo of 3 teeth coming in and a cold makes for some very miserable days! However, I was doing dishes this afternoon and turned around to find my daughter walking around the house like this. Just what I needed, a good smile:)

Easter

We had a really good Easter this year! We went to church with Grandma and Grandpa Skillman. Charlee did really good for about 40 minutes, but she spent the last 40 minutes in the hallway because she was yelling and talking during service. After church we went to lunch and the Rayls joined us.
Charlee started saying "BaBa" and crawling today! I was beginning to think she was NEVER going to crawl. I guess she showed me! She has also said "DaDa" a few times, but I am tuning it out:) She has been pulling herself up in her crib too! This always ends badly! She has smashed her face on her mobiles countless times! Poor baby:(

Almost 8 months old

I always thought that Charlee would walk early based on how good she does in her walker, but not this early! She doesn't pull herself up yet, but if you stand her up she is a walking machine! She has also decided she is done with her walker (aka "the babysitter), so it looks like I need to get to baby-proofing ASAP! My sweet little baby is growing up too quick:(

Still trying to loose the baby weight:(

Well, my daughter is almost 8 months old now and I still can't loose this freaking "baby weight"! I gained 65 lbs when I was pregnant with that gianormous baby (9lbs 110zs)! The first 40 fell off with little work or effort on my part, which was awesome! However, the last 25lbs are sticking around to terrorize me! I have been eating good(for the most part), working out, and only drinking water for 3 weeks now. I weighed myself yesterday and I have gained 2 lbs! WHAT THE HELL????? I have been working hard and NOTHING! This is depressing:( Back to the treadmill for me!

My baby is growing up:(

It hit me all at once today........ My baby is turning into a toddler! Yes, she is only 7 1/2 months old, but she sure doesn't act like it! She is refusing to crawl, but has walked by herself twice now. I just went and bought her a $45 pair of shoes today that should help her walk even better, so it should be anytime now. She started waving bye-bye yesterday too! It is so cute, but where did my little baby go? She is turning into a little person right before my eyes and I am happy and sad all at the same time!

Not enough time in the day!!

Lord, I feel like these days are over before they even began! I have been so busy with work, baby, dinner, house, dog, work-outs, errands, and every other imanginable thing! I don't have any idea how people do this with more than one kid??? So, needless to say, this is gonna be a short and sweet blog entry.

Charlee is sooo close to crawling! She makes such a funny face when she is on her hands and kness, it just cracks me up! Yesterday, I gave her dry cereal and juice for the first time. She wasn't quite sure what to think of the cereal, but she just kept eating it and making a disgusted face. When she was in her walker she would eat one and then give one to the dog, it was so cute! She seemed to like the juice, but it gave her a belly ache:( even though I watered it down.

Well, we have friends coming over for dinner tonight and I am making lasanga, ceaser salad, garlic bread, and banana pudding. So, I have 9 million things to do and hopefully my teething baby will allow me to do them!

Better and Busy

So, I am finally better! Still taking antibiotics, but feeling 100%. This illness turned out to be a good thing actually, because I quit smoking!! It's been 10 days so far and I am not even craving one! It probably helps that I have been too busy to think about smoking. I worked all weekend and Monday making up hours I missed when I was sick. I am off today, but back at it tomorrow.

Kreig, Charlee, and I went out to eat at BW3's the other night. Ever since Charlee has been born she has been a complete angel whenever we take her anywhere. Not so much this time! She was screeching sooooo loud the entire time we were there it was literally giving me a headache! I was so embarassed and felt so bad for the people trying to enjoy their dinners, but what the heck am I supposed to do??? I told her no about a million times, but she is 6 months old, she doesn't get it! I don't really think there is anyway for me to convey to a 6 month old that she is being rude, but I am just gonna keep on trying:)

Well, we finally have a semi-schedule. I still have been letting her lay with me to fall asleep, but I don't rock her. I just lay her next to me, or on my lap, and let her fall asleep on her own. I figured this was a good way to ease her (or me) into fallin asleep on her own. We have her food on a schedule now also, which is working very well. It may be working too well, because now all she wants to do is eat food and she could care less about her bobby's (bottles).

Well, I am getting rammed in the legs by a screaming baby in a walker, so I guess thats my clue that I gotta go!

BLAH

Well, things are not getting off to a good startt. I am sitting here at 4:50 am blogging because I am too freaking sick to sleep! I just called into work for the 4th day in a row because I can't get my fever to go away. I haven't even been able to touch my daughter in 48 hours. What has me so sick you ask??? The flu, an ear infection, and strep throat! I AM MISERABLE!

However, my husband has been AWESOME! He is taking care of the baby, me, the dog, the house, lysoling everything, and anything else you can imagine. I know he is ready for a break, I just wish I could get well enough to give him one.
